Dr. CasamitjanaWe are pleased to invite you to join us in Barcelona for the XIX Annual Meeting of the Cervical Spine Research Society - European Section. This annual meeting of our society allows us to exchange new and interesting scientific information in the exciting field of Cervical Pathology.

In the short period of two days we will have an overview of the most important topics ranging from diagnostic problems to their different treatments. The main topic to be covered in Barcelona is, "Outcome and Controversial Points in Cervical Myelopathy", being that it is a clinical frame that is more and more relevant due to the accurate and developed diagnostic technology, and the increase of the population age average.

Famous anatomists, neurophysiologists, biomechanics, and colleges neurosurgeons as well as spine orthopedic surgeons, will help us to better understand the reality of this pathology today. Discussion tables will allow us to share the different knowledge and experiences since they are not the same on both sides of the Atlantic or beyond the Pacific.

The program will include lectures, 40 free communications and a non limited number of poster presentations.

The exhibition area will enable a large display of implants and other innovating techniques. Workshops each afternoon, sponsored by the industry, will give all the participants the opportunity to handle different innovating implants and techniques.

The Mario Boni Award will reward the best oral communication and poster presentation.

Social activities cannot be forgotten in our exciting city, in a warm and friendly atmosphere to exchange not only scientific information, but also enjoy and increase personal relationships.

We are looking forward to seeing you in June 2003 in Barcelona.
