Degree in Medicine and General Surgery from the Autonomous University, Barcelona (1974).

Specialist in Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery in Vall d’Hebron Teaching Hospitals, Barcelona (1979)

Staff physician in the Traumatology and Orthopaedic Surgery Department of the same Hospital since 1980.

Specialist in Cervical Pathology in the same Department since 1986.

Head of Cervical Spine Pathology within the Spine Surgery Unit at the Vall d’Hebron Traumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital, Barcelona, since 1998.

Publication of articles in national (Revista de Ortopedia y Traumatología, Avances en Traumatología) and international medical journals (J. Bone JT. Surgery, Acta Orthopaedic Belgian, European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, Spine).

Member of several scientific committees: Cervical Spine Surgery Course in Vall d’Hebron Hospitals, European Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS) Meeting in Switzerland, Society for the Study of Spine Injuries (GEER) Meeting in Gran Canaria (Spain), etc.

Awarded the Mario Boni Prize for the best article presented at the European Cervical Spine Research Society Meeting in Turin (Italy), in 2001.
