within the Spine Unit of the Vall d'Hebron Traumatology
and Rehabilitation Hospital in Barcelona. The Vall d'Hebron
Teaching Hospitals form the foremost public health care
hospital complex in Catalonia and one of the leading
centres in Spain. It is a referral centre for particularly
complex cases and is internationally recognised for
its research and teaching functions. The Hospitals have
a staff of approximately 53 surgeons, 295 beds, 8 operating
rooms and 40 medical consulting rooms.
